Lesson 1 - The Start Of Something Different

If you and I were sitting down together right now to talk about what's in this course —I wouldn’t start with a list of “Here’s what you’re going to learn.”
I’d probably start with, “Okay… so, let's share our story.”

Because I know something about you — not because I’m psychic, but because I’ve lived this ADHD life, and I’ve observed countless people who have too.

You’ve been trying. Really trying. For years.

You’ve read the books, watched the YouTube videos, downloaded the productivity apps with the pretty colors. You’ve had the late-night pep talks with yourself.

You’ve even had the “This time it’s going to be different” moment… more than once.

And yet… here you are. Still feeling like you’re chasing something you can’t quite catch.

The Unspoken Truth About ADHD Strategies

Here’s the thing nobody tells you when you have ADHD:
You can follow all the "programs" in the world, and it will still fail you — not because you’re lazy, or broken, or secretly don’t want it enough — but because the information itself was built for a brain that isn’t yours.

Neurotypical advice assumes you can rely on motivation.
That if you just push through, you’ll get there.
And maybe for them, that’s enough.

For us? It backfires.

Because every failed attempt doesn’t just stop progress — it builds evidence that we’re falling behind.

Momentum comes from wins.
But when losses stack up, we drift away from the work that moves our life forward…
and get sidetracked trying to “figure out” motivation.

It feels productive, like we’re getting closer to an answer —
but it’s a dead end.

Why This Course Exists at All

So instead of trying to unpack the mysteries of motivation, we’re going to start with something different...

...Acceptance.

Not the resigned kind — not “this is just how it is, so give up.”

But the kind where you stop wasting energy on battles you were never going to win…
and start putting that energy into a life that actually feels good to live.

I didn’t make this course to teach you how to “manage” your ADHD.
Frankly, I hate that phrase — it makes it sound like we’re a problem to contain.

This isn’t about fixing you.

This is about helping you understand why the world’s usual solutions haven’t worked for you, and giving you a new lens.

We’re Going to do This Differently

So here’s the deal.
I’m not going to hand you a 10-step plan for “success” that will only work if you turn yourself into a productivity zombie.

Instead, I’m going to help you see the patterns underneath the struggle — the emotional landmines, the brain wiring, the way chasing certain kinds of goals can actually sabotage you.

And then, we’re going to shift things.

We’re going to start lifting the weight you’ve been carrying — piece by piece — so moving forward doesn’t feel so heavy all the time.

And when that weight starts to come off, something changes.

You don’t have to force yourself as much.
You don’t have to fight through the same resistance.

You just… move.

Suddenly you realize adding discipline was never the solution  It's always been about stripping away the shame and dread.

A Different Starting Line

Here's how were going to do it.

Most self-improvement starts by telling you where you should be.
This one starts with where you are.

We’re not going to build a new life on a foundation of “I’m behind.”

We’re going to build it on “I’m here, and I’m capable of making this next moment better than the last one.”

Presence — that's the thing we’re going to talk a lot about in this course — and not in a "burning insense", "chakra aligning", spiritual mindset kind of way.

I mean in a practical, "how can I prioritize what's right in front of me today" kind of way.  This is how you get off of the hamster wheel you’ve been stuck on.

It doesn't involve "giving up".
It’s not settling.

It’s living from a place where you can breathe now, instead of waiting until you’ve earned it.

If You’ve Been Burned Before

I know you might be skeptical.
You might be thinking, “Okay, but every ADHD course says they’re different.

And yeah, they do, but here’s my promise:

  • I’m not going to give you homework you’ll hate.
  • I’m not going to load you up with complicated systems.
  • I’m not going to shame you for missing a day, a week, or even a month.

This isn’t about perfect streaks. This is about steady, sustainable shifts.

The Next Step

In the next lesson, we’re going to dig into something you might never have fully considered:
What are you actually chasing? And more importantly — why?

I’m going to ask you questions that might feel a little unsettling at first, because they get under the surface of all those “I just want to be successful” answers.

We’re going to peel back the layers until you can see the thing underneath it all — the thing you’ve really been after all along.

Once you see it, everything else we do in this course will make a lot more sense.

So… finish your coffee, take a breath, and let’s start this journey.
